Flat to Flat
The Flat to Flat project focuses on taking a flat surface and discarding its actual three-dimensionality by converting it into digital information such as a photograph using a camera. Conversely, the surrealistic three-dimensional space drawn digitally is literally trapped in a flat, two-dimensional space. Just juxtaposing the two makes the concepts of each image going in opposite directions like a reflection on a mirror more pronounced. The two worlds, which are going in opposite directions, support each other.
I consider the project as a photographic poetry, and instead of writing any text, I gently placed each image-pair on each pages so that the viewers can read between the lines. Below is a slideshow of mock-up images of the publication projection.
