Digital Dilution
In Digital dilution, a project that records a video of a video and repeats this process in succession infinitely, the visual ornamentations disappear in the process of recording and the nature of the subject remains. When only the information close to this visual resonance remains, the video transmits noise as if the nuances and accents of language are lagging behind. In this process, you think about the beginning and the end, where this message started, and where it goes. The answer to that question is not readily given to us who are the subjects of finite time. I, then, capture this phenomenon.
Two iconic TV shows were selected to contrast the two worlds within two worlds. both shows are fiction yet one is more realistic while the other contains more fantasy. The show is always a fantasy and it is an exaggerated version of the real world.
Below the video is the final work of the project that showcases the process of how the digital information including video and audio information gets blurry at the end after 100 times of re-recording. It is quite interesting and enjoyable to observe the process of abstraction.
